A Voice and A Vote.SM

A Voice and a Vote SMCan you imagine walking to the checkout counter of your local grocery store and telling the clerk what you're willing to pay for a carton of eggs? How about the gas station? It makes most of us angry to pay $3.50 or more a gallon but we do it because we don't feel we have any other option.

However, Vantage's relationship with its Members is grounded in part on the belief that with us you are in business for yourself, not by yourself. This philosophy has resulted in the most owner-directed and empowered brands in the industry. From the very beginning, members have voted on all major brand decisions - including setting their own fee structure. Any changes or additions must be approved by a minimum 66 percent of the voting membership. While this might create a mutiny at some other hotel chains, it has created a strong relationship of trust among the members and corporate team. At Vantage, we call your ability to be heard and to count, "A Voice and A Vote.SM"

Members are encouraged to ask questions, submit voting topics and voice their opinions throughout the year through formal and informal channels, including:

  • Open access to the entire corporate team, from the CEO to the copy room crew
  • Member-elected Advisory Board and Advertising Council
  • Quarterly All Access webinars hosted by CEO, Roger Bloss, and COO & CFO, Bernie Moyle
  • Annual International Educational Conference and Trade Show

With members who feel comfortable raising concerns and executives who facilitate honest education about important issues, Vantage has a powerful voting process of which its Founder, President and CEO, Roger Bloss, is proud. When asked if members get a vote wrong or don't vote the way executives were hoping, Bloss said, "It's never a wrong decision when the members vote."

Brand-wide voting and discussion topics that have been determined by the membership include:

  • Vantage Hospitality Group, Inc.
  • Membership fee structure
  • Non-smoking policies
  • Quality Assurance standards
  • Quality Assurance scores and ratings
  • OTA commission policies
  • Internet marketing initiatives and funding
  • Amenities and service standards
  • Continental breakfast offerings
  • TripAdvisor and online reviews
  • Brand standards
  • Signage requirements
  • Participation in brand-wide promotions
  • Loyalty programs

A Voice and a VoteSM is just one unique aspect of our innovative Freestyle® Brand Affiliation model, which offers hotel owners the best of both worlds - the resources of a hotel franchise and the freedom of a hotel membership - allowing them to have a meaningful role in deciding all major brand initiatives.
